fur-ocious.

new year. new purchase. that's a valid excuse, right?

okay okay, fine. so maybe not, but ever since that day that i was searching through my parents coat closet (and swooped up dad's old leather jacket), i fell in love with my mom's faux fur jacket from the 50's. i really haven't been able to stop thinking about it and decided it would be a good investment purchase. while browsing the internet one fine day, i came across this kova & t faux fur jacket. i immediately fell in love with it and knew it had to be mine. and to top it off.. the jacket was $200 less than its original price, plus no tax, AND free shipping. i mean, who can really say no, right? the purchase was made and 2 days later the coat arrived on my doorstep. it fits like a glove and i couldn't be happier with this new addition to my closet. oh, and ps... the hood is detachable!

keep the cold weather coming..
i'm ready!

2010: a year in review.

well 2010 has come and gone in a flash. i was once told in high school that time goes by the quickest when you are young, and i beg to differ. as i have gotten older i have realized that time goes by even faster as an adult and time really has become more precious. i hate saying that, but it's true.

this past year was a good year for me. i wouldn't say a great year, but it wasn't necessarily bad either. i was able to really do things for myself for once and it made me realize the things i want out of life and the things that i definitely don't want for myself. i have learned to grow with time and have overcome some large obstacles in my life i didnt think were ever possible. this new knowledge will help me in the future and i really look forward to what 2011 has to bring. some big decisions will be made, my life could potentially drastically change in the most positive way - and i can't wait. everything that has happened this far in my life has happened for a reason. i'm ready to step outside of my confined box and go with the flow.

some highlights from 2010 include a trip to new york, starting soccer again for the first time since graduation, taking the gmat & being done with it, zip lining & waterfall repelling in costa rica, seeing the rockettes, celebrating holidays with family, going to amazing music festivals & shows, improving my photography skills, and having more direction in life than i did a year ago.

2010 photo diary (in no order):

as i mentioned before, i have a feleing 2011 will be a big year for me and i truly look forward to it. hope everyone is safe on new year's eve & everyone has a wonderful new year!
cheers!

time for the holidays.

christmas came and went so fast this year. it does every year, but this year seemed exceptionally fast. i can't believe it's over. everything this year was amazing. christmas eve was a perfect day that i spent with my parents at the movies and then was taken to a surprise dinner at WP24. it's the wolfgang puck restaurant on top of the ritz carlton downtown. the meal was easily on my list of top three dinners of my life. the service was great, the view was fantastic, and the food was incredible. i came home, opened up my traditional 'xmas eve gift' of pajamas and i was set. christmas day was spent with family at my parents house, tons of peking duck & fried rice, gifts galore, and memories were made. while i would have loved to have my brother and sister in law there with us (first christmas away from each other...ever) it was truly a success. some of the highlights below:

the aberdeen.

drooling over these aberdeen oxfords from madewell. for some time now i have been going back and forth if i really wanted a pair or not, and the debate has always been what color? black or brown? what color brown? what style? what about cream? after doing tons and tons of reserach, i think i finally found the perfect pair of gray oxfords. i decided that gray is the perfect neutral. perfect with black, brown, camel, taupe - literally all colors. i can't seem to get enough of these and am picturing potential outfits now.

now the real question is... when do i make the purchase?
extra xmas gift? fingers crosssssseeeeddd!!

happy xmas eve!
xx.

all bundled up.

sometimes all you need is the simplicity of neutral colors, black, and a hint of a bright hue. i know i posted (here) about my love for black and nude already, but i still can't seem to get enough. the below pictures are perfection of being stylishly cool and keeping extremely warm. my favorite parts of the outfits? the bright blue gloves in the first photo and the bright red nail polish on the second. that small hint of color makes the biggest difference and adds just the right amount of personal touch. job well done, ladies.

side note...only a few days until xmas!
