so i've had to play a serious game of catch up on nyfw since i've been out of the country, but after finally going through almost everything i wanted to see, here i am, ready to share some of my favorites and my take on things.
i still love the fact that pattern play is in full effect (i.e: L.A.M.B., betsey johnson, alice + olivia, etc) . i loved this trend when it first started making appearances months ago, and love that moving forward i know the trend is not going anywhere. animal print and stripes? don't mind if i do. speaking of pattern play, same goes for texture as well. mixing bold sequins with feathers? same deal. love love love.

i also am extremely happy to see that the 70's inspired clothes are here to stay as well. the high-waisted pants, the denim on denim, everything about it i love. also, while i love that the fall season has jewel tones, i must say that brights are probably my favorites - and plenty of those were seen on the runway this year (ie: marc jacobs, alice + olivia, betsey johnson, etc). the brighter the better.

while i wasn't 100% convinced with his collection as most of it felt like was something we have all seen before, christian siriano did have a few pieces that i adored and thought were completely wearable.

and finally here are a few of my favorites from nanette lepore. when i saw these looks, i immediately wanted to be on an island sipping cocktails, basking in the sun. love the look of the bandeau/bra top paired with high waisted shorts/skirts. yes please!

and i do have to give a special shout out to my brother, ryan, who got the opportunity to shoot the alexander wang show (luckkky), so i have a special place in my heart for this collection. loved these looks (oversized knits, harem pants galore, and shapeless dresses) - the ultimate man repellers.
i guess that kind of wraps it up...there are SO many designers who had fabulous runway shows this year so i could post for days about it, but will refrain from doing so and will keep it with what i've got. until next time..
xx.
