fall trend: studded kicks.

pumps, flats, loafers, boots... you name it, they have studs on them.  these add the perfect pop of texture to any outfit for fall.  really loving blush tones and black.  pair with skinny jeans, an oversized tee, chunky necklace and there you have it.  the complete fall look.

the statement necklace.

the ultimate answer to complete any outfit?  a statement necklace.  whether it's all blinged out, brightly colored, chunky and bold, or simply metallic, there's no better way than with a statement necklace.  think skinny jeans, boots, a T tucked in the front and throw on the necklace and you're good to go!  some of my favorites are below.

stonecut statement necklace

dannijo medine necklace

emerald cut rhinestone necklace

crystal-encrusted collar necklace

linked geo bib necklace

dannijo hilde necklace

h&m insect necklace

mirage necklace

pyramid station necklace

the bolder the better!

fall favorite: oxblood.

really loving the oxblood/sangria/cranberry/wine color for all sorts of pieces this fall.  definitely a color you can't miss out on.  now that the weather has finally cooled down to where it doesn't quite feel like summer (hello 90 degrees in october!) i feel like i can fully take advantage of the richness this color has.  below are some pieces i could easily see myself adding to my closet.

now that it's officially november, i'm excited for the cooler temperatures... finally!

in other news...
i know it's been a while since i've posted, but it's been a crazy summer and first part of fall.  this past summer was easily the best summer i've had.  i went to europe, went to a ton of shows, threw vegas in the mix a couple times, created new pieces for my etsy store, spent wonderful time with friends and family, went to disneyland... and i got engaged!  i've been so busy finishing up my last semester of school (woo!) and planning the wedding, so sorry for the lack of updates.  it's been crazy fun so far and i look forward to everything coming up.  tomorrow, november 1st, officially marks my favorite time of year - thanksgiving, my birthday, graduation, anniversary, christmas, new years!  i can't wait! more updates coming soon!

happy tears right after the proposal.

hello scandinavia.

so sorry to all for being sooo MIA recently. this past semester completely took over my life and was swamped with school work right from the get-go. needless to say, i am soo thrilled that it's finally over. hellooooooooo summer break! and speaking of summer break... i'm in scaninavia for a travel course! basically it's an elective course visiting businesses in finland and sweden. we are here for 12 days and am currently on day 4. it's been crazy busy so far, but incredibly enjoyable! within this crazy schedule we visited the company who created the game angry birds, went to a bar that Anthony Bourdain highlighted in his episode of 'no reservations: finland' (Moscow bar), ate reindeer carpaccio, visited a church town with no running water (think - little house on the prairie or the amish country in PA), learned how bringing IKEA to scandinavia united several countries, traveled from finland into sweden, visited Vinter ad agency, experienced my first russian meal, and have truly absorbed the culture. i'm absolutely loving it here and can't wait for more!

layered necklaces.

it's common knowledge that one of the biggest trends this past year has been stacking bracelets.  whether u call it arm candy, arm swag, or an arm party, in the rules of stacking bracelets, more is more.  the same can be applied to layering necklaces, but it's not quite as simple.  too much can be too heavy and can be overpowering.  think simple terms when it comes to your neck party: different textures, mixing metals, long & short lengths, & pendants & various chains.

have any good layering suggestions? let me know!

music monday.

as you all know, i have been recently loving miike snow.  he was amazing at coachella, and i am so excited that fellow dj, dirty south has done a remix of miike snow's 'devil's work'.  this upbeat, dance-able tune is just what i needed to keep me going on this monday.  and speaking of dirty south... he's playing at sutra in costa mesa may 17th!  i'll be there.....!

coachella recap.

while it may have taken me a full week for my body to recover from coachella weekend one, i can definitely say it was well worth the sore throat, insomnia, pain, & body aches.  the majority of my coachella weekend was spent in the sahara tent, dancing continuously for hours on end.  highlights of the weekend?  swedish house mafia, kaskade (he never fails!... seriously, i can't get enough), avicii, martin solveig, justice, miike snow, & madeon.  of course that isn't everyone who i saw, but just some of the major ones.

seriously having post-coachella blues... wanting to relive every minute again!  there's always next year....
