for a little music for the day to start the week off right, i give you M83.  i really became into these guys when their album, before the dawn heals us, was released in 2005 and for me, they then kind of faded into the background until i rediscovered them.  i realized what i had been missing because their eclectic, calm, innovative sounds keep me yearning for more.  their current album, hurry up, we're dreaming, has been getting a ton of air time (both tv & radio) with the single 'midnight city'.  love their sound and everything they offer.

it's personal.

ever since i made the switch from the blackberry to the iPhone, i have always had my eyes on the cute cases.  these cases are not just to protect your phone anymore...it's become more of a fashion statement.  i was browsing the internet one day and came across this dabneylee designs website.  i was immediately drawn to the amazing designs and the geometric shapes, but the best part is that these come personalized!  what could be better?!  i meeeeaaaan... i'm obsessed.  can't decide which one i am going to purchase, but i definitely know i'm getting one soon.  my favorite(s)?  any of the designs with a zig zag... you all know i'm a sucker for anything chevron.

and if the designs are too much for you, they have the simple solid colors as well which are equally as cute with 3 initials as well.  simplicity at its finest.

music monday.

literally a few hours after i posted my last music monday post, the coachella lineup was announced.  while there may not be any daft punk on the bill, this year's lineup has proven to be one of the best.  for all the EDM (electronic dance music) lovers out there, this is your year.  as i am naturally drawn to EDM, i am pleased to say that some of my personal favs are playing - kaskade, swedish house mafia, dada life, porter robinson, avicii, & alesso - to name a few.  while the headliners range from rock, to indie, to rap (black keys, radiohead, & snoop & dre), there is still an eclectic mix and am extremely excited for the entire festival.

as the EDM movement is making it's comeback...has coachella become goldenvoice's EDC?

just like the missoni x target craze, target is doing it again.  but this time it's for an even shorter amount of time... if the merchandise lasts.  from feb 5 - march 6 you can have your pick of silky and flowy tops,  stripes and clean lined dresses & textured and classic silhouetted skirts.  having the entire collection being priced under $60 is a deal maker in itself.  will the madness be the same as it was for missoni?  we'd like to hope not, but are preparing for the worst.

music monday.

in honor of the new year, i have decided to start a new series of 'music mondays'.  i'm thinking that each monday i'll be presenting a new song, artist, group, or something of the sort of who i have been listening to recently and really digging... or perhaps what show is coming up...any new announcements in the music world, and really anything along those lines.  to start off the series, the main music discussion this week will be the coachella line up since this is THE week it will finally be announced (and i CAN NOT wait!).  


here is to my hoping that daft punk finally plays this year.  this is something that many many of us have been dreaming of for a long time.  just to see them come together and play one time.  and i leave you with this: from the TRON soundtrack... daft punk's 'derezzed'.
